When vacant positions need to be filled, it is often worth looking around within our own ranks. Because we know about the skills and qualities of our strong team. A job change within your own company brings many advantages, for the employee himself and for the colleagues in the “new” department. This is because the experience gained in the previous department is usually very valuable and helpful for the implementation of the new tasks.

It is not always necessary to take the classic route via the master craftsman or technician. From carpenter to work planner, from work planner to project manager or from painter to IT employee – we present different colleagues and careers from our company:

Björn Büscher, our IT administrator, started his career in the IT sector after school, but later decided to train as a vehicle painter. Since 2017, he has been part of the MOprojects and Schwanekamp team and started in production as a painter. In parallel, he continued to deal with IT topics privately, which enabled him to assist with programming in a customer project a few years ago. As a result, he was more and more frequently employed in the IT area, until he finally switched to the IT department full-time two years ago.

Timon Epping has been part of the team since the beginning of his apprenticeship in 2015. After working as a carpenter on the CNC for a few years, he moved to the work preparation department last year. There he now works with his previous department and writes programmes for the CNC machines.

Gunnar Heinrich has also been with us since his apprenticeship as a carpenter. After completing his apprenticeship, he moved to the work preparation department for a few years. Since the beginning of the year, he has been supporting the project management team; a completely different working day with more direct customer contact, organisational tasks and travelling to construction sites.

However, it does not always have to be a complete change; a combination of two positions is also possible. Markus Wittebrock started his carpentry apprenticeship with us in 1995. Since then he has worked in many different areas of production or on assembly sites. Since last year, he has not only been working as a carpenter, but also supports the project management with regard to the assembly of our shop furniture in direct coordination with the customers and takes care of the stock control of all merchandising articles.

Heiko Mulder has been part of the team even longer. He started his apprenticeship with us in 1992 and worked as a carpenter and fitter for over 20 years. When individual departments were formed from the “Team Office” in 2013, Heiko moved from production to team leader of work preparation.

These are just a few of many examples of colleagues who have changed departments internally. If someone is interested in trying out a new area of responsibility, we always arrange a test phase so that both sides can get an impression of whether a change of department is the right decision. Some have been in their “new” position for many years, others switched back. In this way, we find individual development opportunities for our team through open communication.

In addition to the internal training of colleagues, we are always on the lookout for new additions to our team, as we are constantly growing. If you would like to learn more about us as an employer and your personal development opportunities, take a look at our careers page or contact us directly.
